Madawaska Valley Township has released a mid-year update on the progress of several capital projects outlined in its 2025 municipal budget.
The update highlights key infrastructure and community improvements already underway or set to begin soon.
Here’s a look at the current status of some of those projects.

- Hopefield Road Resurfacing (Dombroski Rd to Kuiack Lake Ln): The tender has been awarded, with construction expected to begin July 7 and wrap up by August 15.
- Peter Street Culvert Replacement: Work will begin after the end of the school year in late June, with a targeted completion date of August 15.
- Surface Treatment on Lower Craigmont Road: Tender has been awarded, and the project is slated to start in July and finish by mid-August.
- Gravel Resurfacing: Projects on Kuiack Road, Carson Heights Road, Carson Grove Road, Pioneer Road, and Luckovitch Road have all been tendered. Work is expected to begin in July.
- Water Tower Design and Repair: The township has closed a tender for engineered design services, with planning progressing.
- Connecting Link Intersection Reconstruction: Community consultation is currently underway, with a construction tender to follow. Work is anticipated to begin in October.
- Municipal Website Redesign: The updated website is under development, with a public launch expected in late summer.
- Combermere Seasonal Lighting: New decorations have been purchased and will be installed following Remembrance Day.
- Bark Lake Mall Replacement: Nearing completion—an old trailer has been removed, and a new sea container is in place and being prepared for use.
