HART Hubs are part of the the provincial government’s recently announced investment of almost half a billion dollars in homelessness and addiction recovery hubs in the province.
In a news release, the county noted that the initiative underscored its “dedication to enhancing community safety and providing comprehensive support services to residents in need”.
The creation of HART Hubs is in partnership with several provincial ministries, including health, muncipal affairs and housing, children, community and social services, and labour, immigration, training and skills development.
The province says HART Hubs will focus on treatment and recovery and not offer ‘safer supply’, supervised drug consumption or needle exchange programs.
The announcement of the funding from the Ontario government comes on the heels of the recently called provincial election.
