A new playground in Lakeshore Park, a new E-billing platform and extensive road repairs have all been noted in Madawaska Valley’s recently shared Year in Review.
According to the Township, 32 volunteer firefighters responded to 64 in 2024, a dry hydrant was installed at Dam Lake Road and new emergency preparedness supplies were bought through grant funding.
321 building permits were issued, 19 of which were for new builds.
14 public meetings were held to approve Zoning by-law amendments and Minor Variance Applications.
66 Public Skates were offered at the Paul J. Yakabuskie Community Centre.
The Township went on to note highlights from Public Works including culvert replacements, a new roof at the Wastewater Plant, a “generously donated” public dock on Bark Lake and some extensive repairs on parts of the 260 Kilometres of road that the Township maintains.
The Township says that ‘looking ahead’ they will review the Zoning By-law in 2025, release their in-progress Road Needs Study and continue to plan for Blue Box transitioning in January 2026.
