There’s going to be magic in Maynooth on Saturday.
Psychics, healers and artisans will be gathering for the Samhain Spiritual Event and Market.
The event is organized by Tina from Sacred Celestials and Annishnaabe Naturals.
Tina is an Anishnaabe Seer and Spirit Talker of Michi Saagiig Anishnaabe Kwe of Hiawatha First Nation. Her spirit name is Zhaabwaabi Kwe, which means “She Sees Thru Clearly Woman”.
Zhaabwaabi Kwe held the first Spiritual Market event this spring, after realizing there was a strong interest in the community.
“I find more and more people are seeking connections, they’re seeking to build meaningful connections. And since I’ve been doing these events that’s been happening.”
She says, like the first event, the day will bring together a variety of practitioners, artisans and healers.
“There will be six psychic readers that all have their own specialty. So guests can come in and they can be drawn to whoever they need in their healing.
“There will be various energy healers. There is going to be a tarot coach and you can talk to her if you want to learn how to understand the tarot cards. There is a quantum healing hypnosis practitioner.”
Reflexology, crystals, divination, potions and plant medicines will also be featured on the day, along with local artisans.
Zhaabwaabi Kwe spoke a bit more about the events purpose.
“It’s about well-being” she said, “Well-being in the mental, the emotional, the physical and the spiritual. It’s also to bring some of these healers out of the woodwork. Because more and more people are going back to energetic healing, shamanic and plant medicines.”
MooseFM asked Zhaabwaabi Kwe why she felt more people are going back to these practices.
“I feel people are awakening to how processed foods are, and some people just don’t resonate with pharmaceuticals. They want to go back to holistic, original medicines from their ancestors.
“It’s not just First Nations people. All of us humans have been living off plant medicines and holistic foods since we’ve been on this planet.”
Those who might be less familiar with some of the practices are encouraged to attend.
“Anything you’re uncertain about, what I teach in spiritual coaching is just, jump in… just walk around, have a look, it’s free admission. You know, talk to them (the vendors), get to know them and they’re glad to answer all your questions.”
This is the third spiritual event that Zhaabwaabi Kwe has organized. She said that this Saturday’s market recognizes Samhain, an ancient Celtic and Gaelic celebration that occurs this time of year, where it is believed the veil between worlds is thin.
Zhaabwaabi Kwe says the Samhain Spiritual event is family friendly, and also a great way to meet other community members.
“Come on in, dress up in costume if you like, bring the kids in. Some vendors are handing out candy… Get to meet some more members of the community that you haven’t met yet. I love the farmers markets, but this has brought out other people. So come meet the rest of your community. “
The Samhain Spiritual Event and Market takes place Saturday at Emond Hall in Maynooth from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.
