The OPP say they are ‘remaining committed’ to finding out what happened to two missing Smiths Falls residents.
Lawrence Bertrim, who would now be 44, was last seen on Sept. 30, 2022, in downtown Smiths Falls.
Robbie Thomson, who would now be 35, was reported missing Oct. 19, 2023, but is believed to have gone missing sometime between Oct. 12 and 18, 2023.
While it has not been determined that the two incidents are connected, investigators say that they ‘cannot rule that out.’
While there have been multiple appeals for information, investigators still believe someone has a key piece of evidence that will help determine what happened to the two missing men.
With help from the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine Unit, the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and OPP Aviation Services, investigators say they have have conducted multiple searches and followed up on numerous tips from the public.
