The Community Resource Centre (CRC) Killaloe says they are “delighted” to receive a donation of $385 from One Tree Open Mic.
The event, which takes place on the courtyard of Madawaska Coffee in Barry’s Bay, is a monthly collaboration between Jennifer Stevenson of Dance Oasis and Neil Wright of Madawaska Coffee.
The One Tree Open Mic series is a showcase for local talent including poets, singer-songwriters, dancers and comedians.
The proceeds of the series then go to support local charitable organizations. =
In July, One Tree chose the CRC as its recipient.
The funds will contribute to the CRC’s efforts to increase community food security and provide access to programs for all community members, particularly the most vulnerable.
CRC programming serves all ages, from prenatal to youth and adults of all genders, as well as seniors.
The CRC says “we wish to express gratitude to Dance Oasis, Madawaska Coffee Co., and the local musicians and performers who volunteer their time to make One Tree Open Mic a success.”
The next One Tree Open Mic event is Saturday, August 17 on the Madawaska Coffee Co. patio in Barry’s Bay.
