According to Library CEO Natalie Barrington, every summer Barry’s Bay looks forward to Tasha’s Story Walk, a story written just for the Madawaska Valley Library.
Tasha Rankin is a local youth who writes the story, which is then placed on boards outside. Participants walk along, reading as they go. (Many in the area might also know Tasha’s mom, much-loved local vet Dr. Anne).
This year’s story features facts about zoo animals. According to Barrington, there will be face painting, a pin the tail on the giraffe game, a shark toss (like a bean bag toss) where you throw the fish into the shark’s mouth, a giraffe jump, and a fishing game.
There will also be some treats and giveaway prizes.
Barrington says everyone is invited to drop by the library on August 3 between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to take part.
