Behind the scenes of Anne of Green Gables: ‘We’re so lucky’

There’s just a couple of days left to catch Anne of Green Gables the musical at the Village Playhouse.

MooseFM checked in with Miriam Hookings, who worked Front of House during the run, about why people should get out to see the show if they haven’t already.

“It’s amazing, the crowd is amazing. It’s every age. Young and old. Everybody is so happy when they’re coming out. There are some tears as well, it’s a bit of a tearjerker.”

Hookings went on to say how lucky she felt to have the show play in Bancroft.

“It’s family friendly, it’s heartwarming. The talent, the cast, the crew, everything about it is top notch. We are so lucky to have this in our little town. It’s amazing.”

MooseFM also had a quick catch up with much-loved local performer Andra Kauffeldt, who says it’s been “an absolute joy” to perform.

Kauffeldt acknowledged the “incredible talent” of both local and national performers in the show, and shared heartfelt appreciation for the younger cast, saying she was “thrilled there was such a strong representation of local youth and talent.”

The show closes on Wednesday, with matinee and evening performances on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
