A walk-in crowd is needed for a new walking club.
The Madawaska Valley Public Library is starting a walking club, which will have participants meet at the library at 1 p.m. each Friday. The first meeting is Friday, Dec. 15.
CEO Natalie Barrington says there’s no cost to enter; participants just sign a waiver. She hopes the club will gain enough participants so that it can expand and offer activities or contests around the walks.

She says the library is starting the club with the hopes it will give people a social activity, and an opportunity to stay fit, in the winter. Each week the group will do a light walk around Barry’s Bay.
