The municipality of Hastings Highlands is recognizing some local volunteers today.
A special council meeting is being held to honour those who contribute to the community.
Mayor Vivian Bloom says these people are very important to Hastings Highlands.

The special council meeting in honour of volunteers is being held at 1:00pm, at Emond Hall at the Hastings Highlands Centre.
Council continues to look for nominations for local volunteers, and plans on holding a ceremony every year.
