A Madawaska Valley man is facing charges following a police investigation that traced events back to the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The 64-year-old man was charged with sexual assault, indecent assault and gross indecency. The investigation involved the Renfrew County Crime Unit and the charges were related to incidents that allegedly took place in Renfrew County.
The man was released from custody and given a court date in Killaloe for Feb. 8 If anyone has information on the case, they’re asked to call OPP.
Police say the case is a reminder for people to seek help if they’re in an abusive relationship.
