Municipal elections to be settled tonight

Monday, Oct. 24 marks your last chance to vote in the municipal election.

In the Township of Madawaksa Valley, there will be a new mayor, as incumbent Kim Love is not running. The race to succeed her is between Roger Prince and Mark Willmer.

Ten council candidates are running for just four seats available.

Madawaska Valley has a mail-out voting system, but if you haven’t returned your ballot by mail, you can return it in person at the municipal office on Bay Street up until 4 p.m. on Oct. 24. It can also be dropped off at the Paul Yakabuski Community Centre up until 8 p.m.

After 8 p.m., the public is invited to stick around the Community Centre as the town will be releasing results there and people can mingle with candidates.

Tune into Moose FM tonight, as we’ll be airing election night updates starting at 8:20 p.m. You can also log onto www.mybarrysbaynow.com and Moose FM Facebook page to see the latest.
