Killaloe OPP lay drunk driving charge, investigating damaged trailer and car theft

A 29-year-old from Petawawa is facing a drunk driving charge, after a single-vehicle collision in South Algonquin last Thursday.

Killaloe OPP officials say officers were called to Highway 60 in the township just after midnight. The driver was tested and then charged for being over the legal blood-alcohol limit. The driver had their licence suspended and was given a court date in November.

Killaloe OPP is also investigating how a trailer was damaged in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan. Police responded to a “mischief” call at about 7:30 p.m. on October 11th. They went to River Road, where the trailer had been spray painted.

Also, Killaloe OPP is reminding drivers to keep their vehicles locked.

Officials say officers were called to Highway 60 in North Algona Wilberforce just after 12 noon last Saturday. Someone had entered  and rifled through the contents.

Police are reminding of the old saying ‘lock it or lose it.” They ask drivers to lock doors, roll up windows, keep valuables out of sight and keep registration and insurance details in a wallet or purse.

Anyone with information on any of these incidents can call the detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
