Two municipalities offering Hazardous Waste Day

You can now get rid of your old batteries in Hastings Highlands and Madawaska Valley.

A hazardous waste day will be held at 6 ANAF Road on Saturday, July 16th from 9 AM until 2 PM. The Madawaska Valley day will be held at Yard #2 on Combermere Road from 10 AM until 4 PM, and is also open to residents of Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township.

Accepted items include automotive and garage parts, household cleaning products, paint-related materials, pesticides and gardening products. Propane cylinders, pharmaceuticals, nail polish and pool chemicals are also accepted, so long as chemicals are not mixed together.

The Municipality will not be accepting commercial, industrial, radioactive, PCB, biological or institutional waste. Explosives, fireworks, ammunition, tires or old electronics will not be accepted either.
