The last Madawaska Valley Food Bank session of the year was a busy one.

Around 120 households were served on Tuesday, December 21st, which president Paul Thompson says was the busiest food bank they have ever had. He adds the number of people was triple for what a regular food bank was before the Christmas holidays.

However, Thompson says that the community’s generosity allowed them to serve this number. Each family was able to be provided with a ham or a turkey, as well as more staples than what clients typically get.

Regular foodbank sessions will begin again in January, starting Tuesday the 11th. They run every second and 4th Tuesday of the month.
