RCDHU Completes Long Term Care Vaccinations, Urges Caution as Lockdown Lifts

The Renfrew County District Health Unit has announced that all long term care residents who wanted a vaccine have received it.

The unit says 908 people have gotten their first jab in all 10 Long term care homes. Manager of the COVID Vaccination program Andrew Keck says the level of collaboration between the homes, the Health Unit and Renfrew County Paramedics has shown how committed they are to their residents. The RCDHU is urging people to continue following health protocols, and that more vaccine information will be coming soon.

Meanwhile, as the Stay at Home order expires in Renfrew County, The RCDHU is saying don’t let your guard down. Acting Medical officer of health Dr. Robert Cushman says that it has taken hard work and dedication to get to this point. But he is urging people to avoid social gatherings, minimize travel and limit close contacts. The RCDHU also suggests downloading the COVID alert app and completing their self-assessment tool daily.
