Carefor Volunteer Drivers Honoured With Award

The Carefor Volunteer Drivers of Pembroke are being honoured with the June Callwood Award.
The accolade is given to a few select volunteers and groups who go beyond the call of duty to provide service to local communities.
Carefor Volunteer Drivers provides transportation to and from services for seniors and people living with disabilities.
Drivers completed more than 227,000 trips to close to 13,000 people last year.
That translates to 3.7 million kilometers driven.
Carefor was the only volunteer service in Renfrew County that is to receive the honour.
