The first shots of COVID-19 vaccine are being administered today at the Valley Manor.
The Manor says they have received enough of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to innoculate all of the residents who want it, as well as a number of staff. The shots will be given out with the help of the RCDHU. The vaccinations come a year and a day after the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Ontario.
Manor CEO Trisha Sammon says the feeling in the manor is one of relief, saying that it has been the fight for their lives in long-term care homes. She also says the residents are the first to get their shots in Renfrew County. Sammon wants to thank the Manor’s health team partners and says this is light at the end of the tunnel.
