Fundraiser for Families Involved in Eganville Fire

Eganville is coming together to help the families involved in last week’s fire.

Last Wednesday, a fire broke out on John Street in Eganville destroying 2 homes and causing others to have smoke and water damage.

A fundraising event is being held to come to the aid of the families who are now without their homes and belongings. Emily Petrini-Woolley, one of the organizers, says the benefit will involve a lot of music. She says many musicians from the Valley have already agreed to give their time and lend their talent to support the cause.

Also, she says drop box is now available at the Eganville Municipal Office for people interested in donating children’s toys and clothing for the victims. She says the families involved are honored that the community is coming together for them. Petrini-Woolley states that Eganville is a community that cares for each other, like family and when something bad happens to a family member, you help them out.

The event is on January 26th at the Eganville Arena. It starts at 3:00 PM and will go until 1:00AM. A silent auction will also take place. This is a family event and supporters can drop in at any time. Tickets will be on sale as of December 10 in certain locations. For more information on the event, click here.
