The Seniors’ Centre Without Walls have released their calendar for this winter.
The initiative, which runs through the Barry’s Bay and Area Senior Home Support Services, offers local conference calling events for seniors (55 and over) and adults with physical disabilities.
Noemie Gatien, coordinator, says this season’s calls are informative, fun and will connect you with. She adds that seniors are often isolated in rural areas and this program offers a way for people to be connected in a fun way in the comfort of their own homes. The commitment is not very big she says, as a caller can hang up at any time they want.
She says every conference call has a facilitator and is easy to access. This winter’s calendar offers seminars, game and trivia gatherings as well as Christmas carol singing. On December 10th, they will be hosting a phone seminar called “Coping with Grief during the Holidays” with grief educator Dawn Cruchet.
