The Barry’s Bay Heritage/Genealogy Group want to help you find out more about your family roots.
Theresa Prince, chair of the group, has been involved since they started in February of 2002. She says many families in the Valley are related either by blood or marriage and many surnames have been altered over the years.
She also told us about the group’s accomplishments over the last couple of years. They were responsible for researching 50 of the heritage walk plaques you see all over the Madawaska Valley (Barry’s Bay, Wilno and Combermere).

The group meets every third Wednesday of the month at 7:00PM at the Madawaska Valley Public Library. Prince says the meetings are very informal and that everyone is welcomed to join.
