The Killaloe OPP have released a statement on a fatal fire:
“On Wednesday November 7, 2018 at approximately 10:46 am members of the Killaloe Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a garage fire which spread to a residence on Mask Road, in the Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards.
Police have located the remains of a body at the scene which have yet to be identified. The Ontario Fire Marshalls Office, the Office of the Coroner, the OPP Forensic Identification Services Unit and the Renfrew County Crime Unit are continuing the investigation.”
A portion of Mask Road, from Highway 60, to Round Lake Road was closed till late Thursday morning, but has now been re-opened. Information on the victim or the cause of fire have not been released yet as the investigation is still ongoing.
