Eganville Bank Robber Gets Two Years

The man who robbed an Eganville bank has been found guilty and sentenced to two years in prison.

George Pearce delivered a tearful apology to the court after pleading guilty to using an imitation gun during the robbery of the Northern Credit Union in May of 2013.

Pearce made off with $30,000 during the heist, along with a wallet and a purse belonging to bank employees.

Along with the two year sentence, the 42-year-old will also face three years of probation, a lifetime ban on owning firearms and will have to submit his DNA to the National DNA databank.

Thirteen other charges were dropped, including uttering threats, assault with a weapon, robbery and possession of a firearm.
