Police reminding residents it’s illegal to drive high

While the date that marijuana will be legalized has been set, police are reminding you it’s still illegal too get high and drive.

That’s according to OPP Contable Shawn Peever, who says if you’re caught driving high, you can still face stiff impaired driving consequences.

Peever says that some OPP officers are being trained to detect impairment by drugs during roadside tests ahead of marijuana legalization.

Justin Trudeau announced last week that marijuana will be legalized Canada-wide on October 17^th.
