Boil Water Advisory issued in Renfrew

The Town of Renfrew has issued a Boil Water Advisory for residents north of the Bonnechere River.

This comes after a sudden water outage Monday afternoon when residents around town turned their taps on to nothing. According to the town, the outage was caused by a major water main break early yesterday afternoon.

In consultation with the Renfrew County and District Health Unit, the town is reminding affected residents to boil water before using it to ensure that it’s clean and safe to use for cooking, cleaning and brushing teeth. According to the health unit, water should be brought to a boil for one minute before being used.
