St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation is looking for volunteers to help run The Bean coffee kiosk.
The foundation says it needs four more volunteers to ensure it can be run smoothly throughout the summer.
Paula Gulick, Development Assistant at the healthcare foundation, says having the coffee shop open adds a lot to patient experience.
Gulick says The Bean has been open and volunteer run for three years now in St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Since its inception, the kiosk has served snacks as well as locally brewed coffee from Madawaska Coffee Company.
Julie Callon, a volunteer from the start, says it’s been a rewarding experience for her.
The Bean is open weekdays from 8:00am to 3:00pm and is currently looking for volunteers for Thursday and Friday shifts.
