Madawaska Valley Council will convene for the first time in May tonight.
A number of items are on the agenda for the meeting including a letter from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, and a report on the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre Refrigeration Unit.
In the letter from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport it is mentioned that the township has been approved for a Summer Experience Program, which would allow it to hire one Visitor Centre Attendant for the upcoming summer season. The program sees the township getting over $3600 for this position.
The Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre will be undergoing some changes as well, as the refrigeration panel is being replaced. The township is tendering for the project, which is expected to cost around $60,000. The current panel in the building is in need of replacement as it is becoming unsafe because of its age, and the risk of fire or injury increases every year it isn’t replaced.
Council convenes at 4:00pm tonight at Township Hall. The view the full agenda, click here.
