Students at Madawaska Valley District High School are wearing jerseys today to show support for the victims of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash.
Barry’s Bay and Minor Hockey wanted to make sure as many kids as possible were showing support, which is why they held a jersey giveaway last night.
Equipment Manager Jen Brotton says the idea was actually inspired by a nearby town.

Brotton says that despite the tragic bus crash being thousands of kilometres away, it’s felt by hockey communities all over.
In total, 139 jerseys were given away for students to wear.
