MV Library CEO Excited for Digital Services to Come

Digital services at the Madawaska Valley Public Library could be getting a new look.

This comes as the province announced $28-million over three years to create a Digital Public Library that would provide access to digital content to all Ontarians.

CEO of the Madawaska Valley Public Library Karen Filipkowski says this will help reverse some digital service cutbacks from previous years.

The province says the new digital library will offer services such as ebooks, music, audiobooks and research databases.

Although there will be more online content, Filipkowski says she doesn’t see walk-in numbers at the library being effected.

The province also announced a $51-million investment into Public Library Operating costs over the next three years.

The Madawaska Valley Public Library is located on Opeongo Line and currently has over 1700 members.
