Madawaska Valley Food Bank Preparing for Grow a Row Program

If you grow your own vegetables, you should considering growing an extra row this year.

That’s the message from the Madawaska Valley Food Bank, which is starting its annual Grow a Row program in the coming weeks to help give clients fresh fruits and vegetables.

President of the Madawaska Valley Food Bank Terry Newcombe says this helps both the food bank and clients.

The program sees local farmers start an extra row of seedlings and donating that row to the food bank so clients can grow their own fresh fruit.

Newcombe says if you want to donate any extra seedlings, there’s no type of registration required. You can drop off seedlings the 2nd or 4th Monday of each month at 188 Paugh Lake Road in Barry’s Bay.
