The future of the Madawaska Valley Fitness Centre is being discussed by Madawaska Valley Council.
That’s according to Mayor Kim Love, who says the funding for the fitness centre runs out next month.
Love says the fitness centre saw a bit of a membership increase following a recent advertising push, but not enough.

Love says council will keep exploring its options through things like government grants. However, she also says the township isn’t in a position to fund the fitness centre with taxpayer dollars.
Memberships at the fitness centre cost $30 per month, while winter operating hours are 5:30pm to 10:00pm.
