Local OPP Detachments Release Distracted Driving Blitz Results

Local OPP detachments have released results from last week’s distracted driving campaign.

The campaign, which ran from March 10th to 18th, saw 50 drivers charged by Upper Ottawa Valley OPP, 43 charged by the Renfrew OPP, and five by Killaloe OPP. Residents are reminded that if you need to make a call while driving, you should use a Bluetooth or handheld device.

The OPP says distracted driving is the number one cause for deaths on OPP patrolled roads each year. The next OPP traffic campaign will be during Easter long weekend for seat belt awareness.
