The City of Pembroke is warning residents of a scam claiming its water is contaminated.
According to the city, salespeople have been reported going door-to-door saying that the City of Pembroke’s water is contaminated and unsafe to drink. The scammer then attempts to sell you a water filtration system.
Councillor Les Scott, who is also the Chair of the Operations Committee, says the city was given a 100% rating in water quality in a report completely by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

Mayor Michael Lemay says residents shouldn’t have to worry as the water is safe and tested regularly.
