North Hastings Fire Service is reminding you to check your chimney, wood stove, and pipes for creosote.
Because the temperature has been flip-flopping between mild and cold recently, Fire Prevention Officer Matt Musclow says this is the prime-time for creosote to build-up.
Musclow also says you could be at risk if there is too much creosote in your wood-burning appliances.

Musclow says there are a number of licensed professionals in the North Hastings area who can check and clean your chimney, woodstove, and pipes.
