Drivers reminded about Hastings Highlands load restrictions

Load restrictions are now in effect on roads in Hastings Highlands.

As of today, vehicles will not be allowed to carry more than five tons per single axle on municipal roads, including Highway 62. Operations Manager Adrian Tomasini says most drivers won’t have to worry about the restrictions.

These restrictions come into effect every year as the weather gets warmer. Tomasini says it’s to protect roads as frost thaws from the top down.

Load restrictions on municipal roads in Hastings Highlands will remain in effect until May 1^st.
