The Opeongo Snowbirds Snowmobile Club is asking for local support to help open the trails this winter.

As part of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, our local club applied for a roughly $80,000 grant to fund infrastrucutre fixes for the trails. The grant hasn’t been approved.

President Cheryl Reid says the club is now turning to business owners and the community for financial support and materials to help open the trails before the snow comes. She says this is to cover the necessary repairs to get through the season.

Reid says the club will apply again next year, but that it’s always uncertain whether projects will get funding. Learn more about how you can help by clicking here.
