Film crews get ready to start shooting in Barry’s Bay

Film crews will be setting up in Bancroft and Barry’s Bay in March to start shooting ‘The Manhattan Project.’

Producer Cesar Barbosa says the independent movie will tell the story of a man with a terminal illness who decides to take life into his own hands. Barbosa says the two local communities are the perfect settings for the film.

Barbosa says crews will begin shooting from March 9th to the 24th, and again in either April or March.  Because this is a self-funded movie, Barbosa says the crew is looking for anyone interested in volunteering to lend a hand.

The goal is to have the movie ready for the Toronto International Film Festival in June. Barbosa says he also intends to hold a special screening in Bancroft.
