The Town of Petawawa is sharing tips so you can avoid frozen pipes this winter.
A few tips the town is suggesting include allowing a faucet to drip constantly, keeping doors within your home open and keeping the heat on in your house. The town says that frozen pipes can very often lead to a pipe bursting in your home.
If you come across a frozen pipe, you should first locate the frozen pipe and then open a faucet to relieve pressure. To unfreeze a pipe, the town says you should never use a flame and instead use a hairdryer to avoid damaging the pipe.
