15 drivers are facing charges after a commercial vehicle safety blitz.

That’s according to Upper Ottawa Valley OPP, who says the blitz took place on February 15th and was assisted by the Ministry of Transportation.

Officers were deployed at different locations along Highway 17 based on local analytics. According to police, officers were focusing on the mechanical safety of the vehicles and unsafe driving behaviour.

As a result, 15 drivers were charged including seven for speeding and four for failing to move over for emergency vehicles. Police say there will be more initiatives like this in 2018.
