Railway Station Negotiations One Step Closer To Happening

Negotiations regarding the future of the Railway Station Tourism Centre are one step closer to starting.

That’s because the Madawaska Valley Township has named their representatives for the negotiations. Mayor Kim Love, Councillor Shelley Maika and CAO/Clerk Doug Robertson will represent the township when they enter into discussion with the Madawaska Valley Culture and Heritage Society.

Robertson can choose to assign a staff member in his place depending on his work load, a choice he says he hasn’t made yet.

The society proposed to the township to take over operations of the tourism centre on a lease agreement-basis at a council meeting earlier in February.
