Police are asking for the public’s help after a string of vehicle break ins.

Upper Ottawa Valley OPP says that several items were stolen from unlocked vehicles in Petawawa overnight Sunday. According to police, a homeowner had confronted the two suspects before being assaulted.

Police say the two men then fled on foot. According to reports, at least eight streets had cars broken into the same night and police are encouraging any other victims who haven’t yet come forward to do so.

Residents are reminded to always lock their cars when they aren’t near them.
