Environment Canada can’t disagree with Wiarton Willie’s Groundhog Day predictions.
The rodent saw his shadow on Friday, which some people believe means another six weeks of winter are on the way.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says that’s a pretty sound forecast for the Madawaska Valley area.

Coulson also says that, at this time, February will likely be colder than usual.
The average daytime high during February is around the minus two mark.
