The Eastern Ontario Warden’s Caucus had the chance to address its 2018 goals to provincial representatives.
The caucus, which includes representation from Renfrew County, attended the Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference in Toronto earlier this week. Members had meetings with Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, a number of ministers, along with the Ontario PC and NDP parties.
The goal was to highlight its two priorities in Eastern Ontario for this year. The first is to get funding to support a nearly $300-million project to improve cellular and broadband networks in the region. The second is to implement an Eastern Ontario Economic Development Strategy, to address the region’s future needs for growth and innovation.y, who is also Renfrew County’s Warden, says these projects are long-lasting. She says they will bring positive benefits to all sectors, whether it’s economic development, healthcare, rural affairs, infrastructure, employment, and growth.
