Two Madawaska Valley men have been fined by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
Both of the men have been fined for unlawfully harvesting timber without a forest resource license. According to the MNRF, a Crown lot north of Madawaska Valley had a quantity of red pine illegally harvested from it in the summer of 2015.
As a result, both men are facing a $2000 fine for unlawfully harvesting red pine as well as $1500 each for unlawfully harvesting poplar. The four loads of poplar logs were seized and forfeited to the Crown.
