Environment Canada has issued a flash freeze warning for the Madawaska Valley area.
Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says today will start out mild and rainy, but a sharp cool-down this afternoon will bring freezing rain and snow with it.
Coulson says these conditions prompted the flash freeze warning.

Coulson also says both drivers and pedestrians will have to be careful.
Driver’s are being told to watch for slick road conditions.
