You still have time left to apply for the Canada Summer Jobs program.

That’s the message from the MP for Hastings-Lennox and Addington.  MP Mike Bossio says non-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and small businesses are eligible for federal funding to help them hire summer students.

Non-profits can get up to 100 per cent of the cost to hire youth at minimum wage, while public sector employers and small businesses can get up to 50 per cent. An extra $3,000 is also available for those that hire students with disabilities.

Bossio says summer jobs are an important way for local youth to develop skills, gain valuable work experience, and earn some extra money.

The deadline to apply to the program is February 2nd. Click here to find out more.
