Health Unit: Bundle Up and Wear Layers in Extreme Cold

With the extreme cold weather expected this weekend, the Renfrew County and District Health Unit is reminding residents to bundle up.

The Health Unit says that residents should be dressing in layers if possible if you plan on going outside in cold temperatures. It’s also suggested that if you get your clothes wet, you should try and change into dry clothing as soon as possible to avoid getting a cold.

According to the Health Unit, you’re at an increased risk of windburn and frostbite if the temperature gets below -27.
