The Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre might be getting a skate sharpening service.

The service would come courtesy on Gary Medwid, the owner of the Madawaska Valley Falcons Junior Hockey Team. According to Councillor Ernie Peplinski, Medwid has offered the skate sharpening machine to the township to use free of cost.

The Falcons originally used the machine for their players, but ceased operations for the season a few weeks ago. Peplinski feels the skate sharpening service would be of great value to minor hockey teams using the arena.
