OPP Charge Man After Leaving RIDE Checkpoint

A man is facing multiple charges after fleeing from a RIDE program in Bonnechere Valley.

That’s according to Killaloe OPP, who say the ride program was late Sunday night on Water Street. Police say the vehicle entered the RIDE checkpoint and after talking to the officers, left the checkpoint unexpectedly.

The vehicle was located shortly after according to police, and a 28-year-old Laurentian Valley man was arrested and is facing nine charges including impaired driving, flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The man was held for a bail court yesterday, and police continue to investigate the incident.
