Blood found on clothes Basil Borutski had been wearing the day of his arrest likely came from two of the victims.

Borutski’s trial resumed today. He faces first-degree murder charges in the deaths of Carol Culleton, Anastasia Kuzyk, and Nathalie Warmerdam in September, 2015.

A biologist at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto, Camilla Sewhdat, testified in court today that clothes seized from Borutski likely had his own blood on them. She also testified some bloodstains were likely from Culleton and Warmerdam.

Under cross-examination by a friend of the court appointed to Borutski to make sure he gets a fair trial, Sewhdat also testified DNA tests can’t determine when or how the DNA got onto the clothes.

Borutski remains silent during the trial, which will resume tomorrow.
